Die Herehuis is a real fascinating Victorian-style mansion that was built in the late 1800’s by a Sir Kieser from England and situated two streets away of the busy N1 in the quiet midtown of the beautiful town of Beaufort West and offers luxury old world charm and hospitality in a safe and quiet environment.
Experience the peace and tranquility of this luxurious guesthouse in a refreshing green country style and atmosphere garden posed against a backdrop of the Nieuwveld Mountains. Die Herehuis Guesthouse is perfectly situated between Johannesburg and Cape Town/George, and has a romantic and unique sense of style in the heart of the Great-Karoo. 6 Old horse stables on the premises were converted into luxury units, some with mini-kitchenettes. Later on we expanded to a total of 17 luxury units each with its own entrance for ultimate privacy. All units are equipped with cotton bed linen, Anti-allergic duvets and pillows, bar fridge, complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk, DSTV, Wi-Fi, insect repellents, hair dryer, complimentary soap, tissues and air-conditioning for relief in the summer months with blankets for the cold winters.
We offer free secure out of the eye off-street parking behind locked gates and CCTV cameras, warm hospitality and excellent service. We speak English, Afrikaans and Zulu. Smoking is permitted in the garden area and on private verandas. Pets are welcome with prior arrangement. Die Herehuis Guesthouse is a member of the South-African Guesthouse association and one of the few award winning and highly ranked 4 star graded guesthouses
Next to the swimming pool and garden for kids to play, is a big covered braai area with kitchen, making this the ideal place for group bookings. Karoo Lam “Braai” packs can be pre-arranged. Food wise there is the lovely see-threw-roof Dining room, famous for real karoo style dishes and breakfasts, through pre arrival booking.
Our guesthouse is only 6 km away from the Karoo National Park – with lovely scenic routes and more than 6000 fauna and flora species. The park is also home to five tortoise species – the most in any conservation area in the world. The park also has challenging 4×4 routes into the mountains as well as bike, walking and fossil trails.
